"Newborn"

The Idea

Simple: System Crash, complete loss of almost all my former POV-Work, especially all scene-files and most of my macros. Beginning with the initial reflective-sphere-on-checkered-plane image seemed appropriate and raised my spirits, because the results were (of course) better than my first attempts "in the old days".

The Objects

Well, some superellipsoids for the tiles and two spheres for the marbles. The spheres were mapped with images of the earth and moon and their respective heightfields for bumpmapping-effect, the images were gathered from the net.

The Lighting

Just one simple spotlight using arealight to get soft shadows.

Personal Note

Everything works in circles. We all begin anew at some point.
